Walk all over me

When I heard this story, I wrote these lyrics. Maybe someone can set them to music.

You left me in the dust and rubble
To sift me out was too much trouble
But you still put me in the ground
I'm buried on the corner of 11th and 9th
In a mound of dirt far from the right
My tombstone's flat and round

CHORUS
You can walk all over me
You can walk all over me
But when you cross the street
Won't you think of me?
You can walk all over me

Look for my gravestone when you walk
It's marked THE CITY OF NEW YORK
No name, no date of birth
You couldn't guess them if you tried
But at least you know the day I died
And fell back down to earth

CHORUS

My friends and colleagues are all around
You'll find us scattered over town
In streets and vacant lots
So remember when you tread on us
Or run us over on the bus
You're thickening our plot

CHORUS
