War Is Peace --Orwell

The previous Gulf War turned Vietnam-type war coverage into the US Army spoonfeeding 'Nintendo' footage to journalists. In fact, satellite signals would be fired upon, an officer told her.
Coalition forces have so far lied repeatedly. Basra supposedly fell; An Iraqi regiment supposedly surrendered; Basra civilians supposedly overthrew their oppressors. The BBC, an internationally respected institution with several decades of experience, showed frustration over this. The USA subsequently branded them the 'Baghdad Broadcasting Corporation'. Chutzpah, anyone?
