The Truth Is Out There, You Just Don't Like It

"Thereís a difference between having an open mind and believing something because you want it to be true." TíPol, an alien aboard the starship Enterprise in the Star Trek TV series, makes this statement. Itís ironic, because TíPolís very existence is called into question by her own axiom.
It is my firm belief that aliens donít exist. This sounds harsh and dogmatic, but it isnít. I just mean that without evidence to the contrary, thereís no reason to assume they do exist. How someone can be an atheist and still believe in extraterrestrial life is, to me, the real enigma.
